Google search uncovers new Easter egg

It’s the perfect day for a tribute to “Legally Blonde.”

The hit film starring Reese Witherspoon celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, and in typical Google fashion, the search giant has hidden a special Easter egg in honor of the occasion.

When users search “Legally Blonde” on Google, they’ll notice a pink purse on the right side of the results page. When you click on it, the perky chihuahua Bruiser – owned by Witherspoon’s character, Elle Woods – hops out of a pink purse and onto a salon dryer chair that pops up in the middle of the screen.

After a couple seconds, Bruiser sports a fresh outfit, and the search screen turns pink.

The tribute is among countless Easter eggs Google has sprinkled throughout search results for certain subjects. Others include searches for “askew,” which shows results at a tilt; “DVD screensaver” featuring the Google logo bouncing around the screen; and “Google in 1998” displaying how results would’ve looked that year.
